Former Tennessee quarterback Joshua Dobbs is in an interesting spot right now. Somehow, his intelligence has made some people question his commitment to football, while his play style is causing others to ask if he will be able to have the football IQ to run an NFL offense.

It appears that Dobbs has had about enough of that.

According to SI, while he was at the NFL combine Dobbs was asked if he will be able to comprehend an NFL playbook, to which he responded:

“My senior year I was taking astronautics, propulsion and an aerodynamics class… all on the same day,” Dobbs said. “At the same time as football season when I was leading an SEC team. I think I can handle it.”

He added, “I shouldn’t be punished for having a second passion, or plan for after playing football.”

It’s clear that Dobbs has the pure intelligence to do nearly anything his heart desires, but will an NFL team take the chance to let him run their offense? That remains to be seen.
