Tennessee is officially going bowling this postseason.

The Volunteers knocked off Missouri 24-20 completing one of the biggest turnarounds this season. Remember, the Vols started 1-4 with losses to Georgia State, BYU, Florida and Georgia. The latter of the two are respectable, but the first two were embarrassing.

However, that’s in the rearview now, and Jeremy Pruitt’s team has won five of its last six, with the only loss coming to Alabama. No, we’re not buying the “Jeremy Pruitt for SEC Coach of the Year” hype, because this is the same team that lost to Georgia State and BYU to start the season; however, it shows that Pruitt got ahold of his team, organized the chaos and impressively turned things around.

College GameDay analyst Kirk Herbstreit (and others) have taken notice, too.

Already being bowl eligible, Tennessee faces a bad Vanderbilt team next week for a chance to finish 7-5 on the season. Under Pruitt, the Vols best days are ahead of them.
