LOOK: John Currie releases statement following Tennessee settlement
Give credit to John Currie for at least trying to exit from his ongoing saga from Tennessee with a kind word or two.
Tennessee announced it had settled with its former athletic director Thursday evening with an agreed-upon sum of $2.5 million to be paid to Currie. Currie was on the job in Knoxville for less than 10 months before the school replaced him with Phillip Fulmer.
Soon after news of his settlement had been reached, Currie issued the following statement, which included his well wishes to his former boss Dr. Beverly Davenport and successor in current-AD Fulmer.
It was an honor to work again with the outstanding @UTKnoxville student-athletes, coaches, staff, faculty & fans. Our family wishes Chancellor Davenport & Coach Fulmer continued success as we all begin this next chapter. Go #Vols & #LadyVols pic.twitter.com/BCf4ewv7pA
