Tennessee has lost another football commitment.

Tj Sheffield, a 4-star wide receiver prospect in the class of 2019, announced on Twitter his decommitment from the Volunteers’ program on Sunday.

“After thinking long and hard about my current commitment to the University of Tennessee, I have decided to de-commit from Tennessee,” Sheffield said. “This does not mean that Tennessee is not in the running for one of my top options. I would like to thank Coach Jones, Coach Thigpen, Coach Beard and the Tennessee Football Family for their involvement early on in my recruitment.

“After visiting other colleges, I have come to realize that I need to step back and take a deeper look at what college I plan to attend during my college experience.”

Sheffield, who is a native of Tennessee (Independence High School, Thompson’s Station, Tenn.) committed to the Vols on Nov. 28 of last year.

He is rated as the nation’s No. 29 receiver, according to the 247Sports composite.
