It has not been a great year for Tennessee’s offense.

The Volunteers offense has looked stagnant for much of this season. They have now gone three straight games without an offensive touchdown while scoring less than 20 points in four straight.

An inability to pass the ball efficiently has been a big issue. The team is averaging 165.1 yards a game through the air, but they have not reached that mark in three consecutive games. Even worse, the Volunteers finished with less than 70 yards passing in losses to Georgia and Alabama.

Both Quinten Dormady and Jarrett Guarantano have struggled at QB for the Vols, and one third down stat shows how much the team has struggled.

Here is the stat from the CFB Film Room on Twitter:

The only other QB with a shorter average on third down is Arkansas freshman Cole Kelley.

Tennessee will need a better performance to secure the Vols first SEC win of the season this weekend. Saturday’s kickoff against Kentucky is set for 7:30 pm EST on the SEC Network.
