The Eric Berry-Kansas City contract talks appear to be nearing an end, as the Chiefs Pro Bowl safety will reportedly return to the team this weekend. Berry is currently not under contract with the team after failing to reach an agreement on a long-term contract during the offseason. With no deal in place, Kansas City tagged Berry with the franchise tag.
However the impasse between the two appears to be over. ESPN’s Adam Schefter was the first to report the news:

No word yet on whether Berry has agreed to sign the one-year franchise tag or if Berry and the Chiefs have agreed to a long-term contract.
A former defensive star for Tennessee, Berry made his fourth Pro Bowl and was named First-Team All-Pro for the second time in his six-year career following the 2015 season.
