Tennessee basketball unveils ‘dark mode’ uniforms for upcoming game

Tennessee basketball is getting in on the dark mode fun.
Joining other Volunteer squads, Rick Barnes’s team is set to wear black jerseys and shorts for Tuesday’s game against Syracuse. The team’s social media account offered a Monday preview of the “dark mode” look.

Tennessee is off to a strong start in 2024-25. Last time out, the Volunteers defeated UT Martin 78-35 to improve to 7-0 on the season. They are up to No. 3 in the latest AP Top 25 and No. 1 in the first NET rankings of the season.

Tuesday’s game in Knoxville is part of the SEC-ACC Challenge. Barnes has an 83-77 record against current members of the ACC, including a 13-5 mark in his Tennessee tenure, going 6-1 over the last 4 seasons (2021-25). The 2024-25 Vols already have 2 wins over ACC squads, defeating Louisville 77-55 on the road and Virginia 64-42 in the Bahamas. Following the Syracuse game, UT heads to Madison Square Garden to face another ACC foe, Miami, in the Jimmy V Classic on Dec. 10.
