It was widely reported Wednesday that Williams, a sophomore, was leaving. Ranked the No. 7 wide receiver and No. 48 overall prospect of the 2015 class by 247Sports Composite, Williams played in eight games as a freshman and all six games of the 2016 season so far.
Williams’ production, however, had seen a significant drop off. After catching nine passes for 80 yards in the first three games, he only caught one pass for 19 yards in the most recent three games.
Tennessee has not yet revealed the details of Williams’ release regarding potential restrictions on where he will be able to transfer.
Million dollar tallent…2 cent attitude.
What I do not get, is all spring and fall all we heard is how improved Williams was. What happened? If your gonna get him for dropping passes, hell Josh Malone dropped them for 2 years straight is still started. Malone redeemed himself this year but previous 2 was a flop. Something is up in that locker room mark my words.
Your words are meaningless after everything you have been wrong about, (Butch, Debord, Shoop etc etc etc). There is no locker room problems. Its just a high profile player, who we know has a me-first attitude, that got passed by two other receivers. He wants a fresh start and I can’t blame him.
exactly. he was fed balls all spring to keep him happy because he needed it to be all about preston. when danny obrien was injured and the whole team was on the field, preston was on the bench. if that says anything about him…
Very appropriate picture choice of P-Willy dropping the ball. He just never broke out like Malone and Jennings. Best of luck to the kid.
What’s up?….Where is the egotistical coach denying his release???
