So far, so good. The Vols defense has looked dominant through the first two quarters of action, holding Utah State scoreless in a 17-0 lead.

Tennessee kept Utah State quarterback to 63 yards and an interception on 10-of-18 passing. Keeton was also held to just 16 yards on four rushing attempts.

Justin Worley has fared well for Tennessee, throwing for 147 yards and one touchdown on 14-of-23 passing. He connected with tight end Brendan Downs on a 12-yard catch to give the Vols their second touchdown. Tennessee scored its first touchdown on an end-around by Pig Howard for eight yards.

Freshman Jalen Hurd leads the rushing attack with 26 yards on 10 carries. He has seen a 10-2 advantage in attempts over senior Marlin Lane thus far.

Tennessee has held the momentum throughout the game and looks to continue their dominance in the second half. It will be interesting to see how aggressively Butch Jones’ coaches in the second half with a comfortable lead.
