The Tennessee Volunteers have put together a very talented recruiting class during the 2021 cycle so far. On Sunday, they got started on their 2022 class, too.
The first player to commit to the Vols during the 2022 cycle comes to them all the way from Buffalo, New York.
As you can see below, 3-star DE Jimmy Scott announced via Twitter that he was pledging his services to coach Jeremy Pruitt and Tennessee:

Per the 247Sports rankings, Scott is the No. 29 strong-side defensive end in the class of 2022 and the No. 2 overall recruit from the state of New York.
Scott was the first commitment for the Vols in the 2022 cycle. He had yet to be rated by the 247Sports composite rankings, so the Vols’ class doesn’t have any ranking on 247Sports just yet.
