Hours before the class of 2021 Early Signing Period being, Tennessee’s commitment list is shrinking. Safety Edwin White out of Alabama is the latest prospect to back off his pledge to the Volunteers.

Not long after Elijah Howard’s decommitment and flip to Virginia Tech, White made his announcement on his Twitter account.

“I would first like to thank the coaching at The University of Tennessee, for believing in me and offering my first year in high school but I would like to decommit from Tennessee and open my options up again to find a true home,” White wrote, tagging UT running back Dee Beckwith in the post.

White had committed on March 7 when he visited UT for a Junior Day recruiting event. He is listed at 6-feet, 196 pounds and rated 3-stars, the No. 32 Alabama recruit, No. 60 safety and No. 780 prospect overall nationally on the 247Sports Composite. He has other scholarship offers, including Mississippi State and Ole Miss.
