Trey Smith, a five-star offensive tackle from Jackson (Tenn.) University School, is on his way to Tennessee.

The Volunteers struggled along the offensive line this season, so the opportunity presents itself for Smith to get some early playing time. However, he’s taking the long-term view and wants to be a complete player both on and off the field.

Already physically developed at 6-foot-5 and an even 300 pounds, Smith is just about a finished product in terms of the size and strength necessary to compete in the SEC. He doesn’t feel the need to add a bunch of bulk just to keep elite pass rushers at bay. Even better, he’s already faced a lot of elite competition on the camp circuit.

Be sure to watch the video above, as Smith spent some time with SDS at the 2017 Under Armour All-America Game in Orlando.
