Tennessee is moving on to life without Butch Jones.
The university officially made the decision to fire Jones on Sunday following Saturday’s 50-17 loss to Missouri. It was an ugly game for Vols fans everywhere and was simply the latest example of how bad things have gotten.
Tennessee AD John Currie held a press conference to address the change, and he simply stated that the Vols have not won enough lately. Currie also announced he would not be using a search firm during the process, but it was his reaction to one name that drew a lot of attention.
Currie was asked about speculation that Tennessee may be after Jon Gruden to takeover in Knoxville. He would not comment on any specific candidates during his press conference, but he could not hold back a smile when asked about Gruden.

Fans will just have to wait and see who emerges as the Vols top candidate.
