Manning entered in the 3rd for Quinn Ewers, who was 20-of-27 for 260 yards and threw for 3 touchdowns. It didn’t take long for Manning to make an impact: he hit Johntay Cook with a 40-yard pass to put the Longhorns in position to add to their lead.

Manning played in 2 games in 2023 with five pass attempts. With the result well in hand against the Rams, he’s playing his first extended minutes for the Longhorns, and has looked good doing it so far.
His recruitment was closely watched, considering his pedigree as the grandson of Archie Manning and the nephew of Peyton and Eli Manning, three of the best quarterbacks in SEC history. Ultimately, the Longhorns secured his services.
Texas is well on its way to its first victory as an SEC program. But it will face a tougher challenge when it travels to Michigan in Week 2.
Texas-Colorado State is on ESPN.
