Joe Tessitore receives heaping of praise for electric Arizona State-Texas calls

This year’s Peach Bowl was one for the books. The Texas Longhorns downed the Arizona State Sun Devils 39-31 in double overtime, a game that saw a fantastic comeback led by Sun Devils RB Cam Skattebo.
But one of the things that stood out the most actually didn’t have to do with Texas or Arizona State on the field at all, as broadcaster Joe Tessitore was commended by many for the way he electrically called the matchup. The energy was there all the way for the entirety of a long contest that featured plenty of quality football, and that’s exactly what Tessitore delivered.

Whether or not Texas makes it all the way will be something to keep an eye on as one of many teams who has gone into an overtime contest with a finish like this, including Georgia. And we can only hope for the same type of passion and solid broadcasting for these contests down the final stretch of the CFP as Tessitore delivered.
