Kelvin Banks Jr. is moving on in his football career after 3 seasons at Texas.
The standout Longhorn lineman took to social media on Sunday evening to announce that he has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. He made a point to single out head coach Steve Sarkisian and position coach Kyle Flood.
Dear Longhorn Nation, I am eternally grateful for the impact The University of Texas and Longhorn Nation have had on my life,” Banks wrote. “From the moment I stepped onto the Forty Acres, I knew I was part of something special. The support, passion, and pride of this community have shaped me both as an athlete and as a person, and I will carry these memories with me forever.
“I want to thank Coach Sark and Coach Flood for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to fulfill my childhood dreams of playing on the biggest stage in college football. To my teammates, thank you for pushing me to be my best every day. I woulin’t be the player or person Iam today without each of you.
“Last but certainly not least. I want to thank my family. Thank y’all for being the best support system I could have ever asked for throughout this journey. Your love, encouragement, and unwavering support have been the foundation of my success.
“With that being said, after careful consideration, I have decided to forego my final season of eligibility and declare for the 2025 NFL DRAFT.
“I will always bleed burnt orange and cherish the memories I’ve made here. Thank you, Longhorn Nation, for – everything. I look forward to representing Texas proudly in the next chapter of my journey. HOOK ‘EM
