Texas’ appearance in the College Football Playoff has sparked new life within the program, and that has certainly translated to the recruiting trail.
Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns landed a commitment from 4-star tight end Emaree Winston in the Class of 2025 on Monday, who chose UT over the likes of Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Miami, Ohio State, Tennessee, USC and others.
Winston is ranked as the No. 254 overall prospect and No. 12 tight end in the Class of 2025.

The Calhoun, Ga. native stands at 6-foot-1, 235 lbs. and also plays basketball. He’s a strong rebounder on the court, and that translates to his play as a football player. While slightly undersized as a tight end, Wilson is a physical, athletic pass-catcher that excels in winning 50/50 balls. He’s also a reliable blocker that loves to put opposing players into the turf.
Longhorn fans may liken him to Ja’Tavion Sanders, who was a similarly athletic tight end that has had plenty of success under Sarkisian.
