Texas is preparing for a rematch with the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game. The 11-1 Longhorns are looking to win the conference in their first season as a member.
However, on Thursday, it was announced that a member of the team’s defensive line will enter the transfer portal. Per ESPN’s Pete Thamel, Jaray Bledsoe will look to play elsewhere in 2025.

Bledsoe played in 12 games with the Longhorns over 3 seasons. In 2024, Bledsoe played in 3 games and collected 2 tackles. The DL ends his Texas career with 7 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 fumble recovery.
In high school, Bledsoe starred for Marlin High School in Marlin, TX. The DL was rated as a 4-star prospect and the No. 24 DL in the 2022 class per the 247Sports Composite ranking. Before committing to Texas, Bledsoe was heavily pursued by Texas A&M, Arkansas, Houston, and others.
Unfortunately for Bledsoe, the opportunities to star for the Longhorns’ defense were few and far between. In 2023, the defensive line was anchored by T’Vondre Sweat and Byron Murphy II, who are now both in the NFL. In 2024, the line features Alfred Collins and Vernon Broughton.
Now, the former 4-star will look to catch on elsewhere. The portal officially opens on December 9 and will remain open until December 28. Meanwhile, the Longhorns will kick off against the Bulldogs in Atlanta on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. ET.
