The Clark Lea era in Nashville officially begins today as Vanderbilt has taken the field for the first spring practice of the year.

Spring camp will run through Saturday, April 17, when Vanderbilt is scheduled to play its annual spring game. The Commodores return 17 starters, eight on offense, seven on defense and two on special teams this season.

Take one look at the practice field and it’s easy to see this is a new era on West End as none of the Commodores have numbers on their practice jerseys.

That’s something pointed out by The Tennessean’s Adam Sparks as he is in attendance for the first practice of the Lea era at Vanderbilt.
