It’s not every day Vandy generates winning buzz.

But, that’s exactly what they did this week on ESPN’s College GameDay. David Pollack, Kirk Herbstreit, and Desmond Howard, all picked Vandy to take home the win against Hawaii on Saturday.

Vandy also grabbed the W prediction from the fans, with the public giving them a 67% chance of walking away the winner. The Commodores are looking to improve on their 2021 season, one which saw them take a loss in Clark Lea’s first game as head coach. Vandy finished the season 2-10, and 0 for 8 in SEC play, which landed them in last place in the SEC East.

Hawaii has not been without it’s own challenges, including serious roster movements and depth issues. So far, Hawaii has yet to name a starting QB. The Rainbow Warriors are led by Timmy Chang, a Hawaii alum and legend in his own right. Chang still holds the FBS record for passing attempts, number of seasons with 3,000 yards passing, and 4,000 yards passing, and interceptions.

Are the fans and GameDay hosts right? Will Vandy come away with a win and momentum for a winning season? We’ll have answers as they take on the Rainbow Warriors in Hawaii tonight at 10:30pm ET.
