We have some unfortunate news to share from Omaha as NC State has just announced its team has lost several players for today’s matchup against Vanderbilt in the College World Series.

“An undisclosed number of players from the team have been put into COVID-19 protocol and will be unavailable for today’s game,” NC State said via statement on Friday. “NC State, the NCAA and appropriate parties are working together to monitor the situation.”

At this time, it’s unclear how many players from NC State’s team have been affected.

NC State previously beat Vanderbilt 1-0 in the 2021 College World Series.

Vanderbilt and NC State were set to face off at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. CT on ESPN2 but the game is currently delayed.
