Shaka Smart left the Texas Longhorns this offseason to take the head coaching job at Marquette.

Then, Texas Tech’s Chris Beard took the Longhorns’ job, returning to his alma mater. He’s been hitting the transfer portal hard, including in the SEC.

On Monday evening, he landed a big piece for next year’s squad, as former Vanderbilt star Dylan Disu announced his commitment to the program via Twitter:

Beard and the Longhorns also picked up a commitment from former Kentucky PG Devin Askew this offseason.

Disu played in 17 games for the Commodores this past season, starting all of them. He averaged 15 points, 9.2 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.2 blocks and 1.1 steals per contest.
