Vanderbilt baseball is not done yet, fighting off elimination with a pair of epic performances Saturday evening.

In a win-or-go-home situation in the Corvallis Regional, the Commodores took on New Mexico State. It did not take long for Vanderbilt to gain control and race to a big outing.

The Commodores scored in the top of the first inning with Enrique Bradfield Jr. singling and coming all the way around to plate the first run of the game. Vanderbilt started to build on its lead in the third inning.

That is when Spencer Jones delivered his first big blow of the game. He drilled a no-doubt, 3-run home run to make it 4-0, Commodores.

Jones would add to his tally with a 2-run single in the fifth inning and a 2-run double in the eighth inning. When it was all said and done, Jones led Vanderbilt with 4 hits and 7 RBI while tying for the team lead with 4 runs. His afternoon included a pair of doubles and a long home run.

On the mound, Chris McElvain clamped down on the Aggie offense and hurled 7 brilliant innings. He allowed 1 run on 6 scattered hits while striking out 11 hitters on the day.

Vanderbilt rolled to a 21-1 victory when it was all said and done. The Commodores will next play Sunday evening at 4 pm ET against the loser of Oregon State-San Diego in another elimination game.
