Vanderbilt basketball adds commitment from 4-star guard

The top 2021 basketball prospect in New Hampshire is heading south.

Brewster Academy standout Shane Dezonie committed to play for Jerry Stackhouse’s Vanderbilt basketball program on Wednesday night.

“Just want to thank God for everything that he had put me through and that I will go through,” Dezonie tweeted in his announcement. “The real journey is about to begin! I want to thank Coach Stackhouse and the Vanderbilt staff for believing in me, I will be committing to Vanderbilt University.”

On the 247Sports Composite, Dezonie is listed at 6-4, 190 pounds and rated the No. 1 player in New Hampshire, No. 23 shooting guard and No. 94 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2021. He chose Vandy over 15 other scholarship offers, including Arkansas, Missouri and Ole Miss. Vanderbilt extended its offer on May 1 per Dezonie’s Twitter feed.
