Vanderbilt continues to roll on the basketball recruiting trail.

The Commodores picked up 4-star power forward Colin Smith when he announced his commitment on Sunday. The 6-foot-8, 200-pound prospect was also reportedly considering Arizona State, Michigan, Arkansas and Auburn.

Smith talked about his commitment in a video he posted on Twitter:

Vanderbilt already had the third-highest rated class in the SEC and the 17th best class in the nation before Smith committed, per 247Sports. Smith will join 4-star center Lee Dort, 4-star point guard Noah Shelby and 3-star power forward Malik Dia as part of the 2022 class.

Vandy certainly isn’t afraid to expand its recruiting foot print. Dort and Shelby are from Greenhill High School in Addison, Texas. Smith is from Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona.

Shelby is the only Vanderbilt commitment that resides in Tennessee. He is enrolled at Ensworth High School in the suburbs of Nashville. The Commodores will begin their third season under head coach Jerry Stackhouse when they tip off for the 2021-2022 season. Stackhouse was a former NBA and North Carolina standout before he entered coaching.
