Former UAB assistant coach Jody Wright will soon be named Alabama’s new director of player personnel according to a report by TideSports.com:

Wright wore many hats at UAB last season, working as the Blazers’ assistant head coach, running backs coach and recruiting coordinator. Before working as the passing game coordinating at Jacksonville State in 2013, Wright was a member of Nick Saban’s staff in Tuscaloosa from 2010-12 as a graduate assistant on offense.

As director of player personnel, Wright’s primary job will to lead Alabama’s recruiting efforts through scouting and individual player evaluations.

During Wright’s time at Alabama, the Crimson Tide went 35-3 and won back-to-back BCS Championships. He worked for Dan Mullen at Mississippi State as the Bulldogs’ director of football operations before moving on to the Capstone.
