It seems that Nick Saban is not yet finished filling the holes for his 2017 coaching staff.

According to a report from FootballScoop.com, Saban is expected to hire former Florida State quarterback Clint Trickett in a role to be determined.

Trickett, who started his playing career in Tallahassee as a reserve to E.J. Manuel before transferring to West Virginia and starting for two seasons, spent the last two years as East Mississippi Community College’s quarterbacks coach.

EMCC is famously known for its hit series on Netflix, “Last Chance U.”

Per Trickett’s most current bio:

During Trickett’s first season on the Scooba campus, EMCC’s quarterbacking tandem of Wyatt Roberts and Auburn signee John Franklin III ranked fourth among the NJCAA team leaders in passing yardage and helped the Lions finish third nationally with an average of 50.7 points scored per game. As he was with Franklin’s recruitment to EMCC from Florida State a year ago, Trickett was also key in helping secure fellow FSU transfer quarterback De’Andre Johnson on the Lions’ 2016 roster.

Trickett comes from a bloodline well-known for coaching success. His father, Rick, currently serves as the assistant head coach at Florida State and is considered one of the top and most respected offensive line coaches in all of college football.

His brother, Travis, is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Georgia State, and his other brother, Chance, is the director of recruiting at Louisiana Tech University.

It’s uncertain what responsibilities Trickett will have at Alabama, but one can imagine that Saban will find him a home that best fits his strengths as the Tide continue to bolster their staff for another championship run next season.
