Bret Bielema and the Arkansas Razorbacks ended its 2014 campaign with a huge Texas Bowl win over Texas. Bielema raved about the recruiting opportunities during bowl week in Houston and beyond.

The NCAA’s dead period is lifted in 10 days, but Bielema said that hasn’t slowed the process any.

Where do the Hogs currently sit with their 2015 class?

Current Arkansas 2015 recruiting class

  • National Rank: No. 23
  • SEC Rank: No. 10
  • No. of Commitments: 17
  • No. of Commitments by Rating: Zero five-stars, six four-stars, 11 three-stars

Four-star defensive tackle Hjalte Froholdt highlights a solid class for the Razorbacks. The 6-foot-4, 282 pound native of Bradenton, Fla., adds size and versatility on a defensive front that loses some key parts.

The Hogs had arguably the most talented front seven in the SEC in 2014, but defensive coordinator Robb Smith needs depth up front and Froholdt, along with three-star Daytreion Dean, add nice pieces to the trenches in 2015.

On the offensive side of the ball, quarterback Brandon Allen returns with a wealth of experience. In Bielema’s 2015 class are numerous top-notch players at the skill positions. Highlighting this coup are four-star wide receiver K.J. Hill and four-star tight ends Will Gragg and Jamario Bell.

Keeping the top recruits in-state is a huge step for Bielema in just his second offseason recruiting for the Razorbacks. Ten of Arkansas’ 17 verbal commitments hail from the state of Arkansas.

With an exclamation point to finish the season, the Razorbacks are positioned to be a preseason top-25 team and with another strong class, could make life in the SEC West in 2015 interesting.
