Bret Bielema’s road trips and flights around the Southeast have been well-documented on the recruiting trail this season, the next step toward turning around the Razorbacks’ football program with elite talent.

Here’s a review of Arkansas’ strengths heading into bowl week after the holiday and a few predictions on where the Razorbacks could end up in February. We use 247Sports’ team rankings and individual composite player lists to determine grades:

Current standing

  • National recruiting rank: 21st
  • SEC recruiting rank: 10th
  • Number of commits or signees: 17

Signed, sealed, delivered

  • Jeremiah Ledbetter, DT, Hutchinson, Kan. (Three-star)

Notable hard commits

  • K.J. Hill, WR, North Little Rock, Ark. (Four-star)
  • Ty Storey, QB, Charleston, Ark. (Four-star)
  • Hjalte Froholdt, DT, Bradenton, Fla. (Four-star)
  • Jamario Bell, TE, Junction City, Ark. (Four-star)

Remaining primary targets

  • Iman Marshall, CB, Long Beach, Calif. (Five-star)

Signing Day surprise

  • Arkansas is one of three teams in play for four-star offensive guard Jalin Barnett, a 6-foot-4, 315-pounder from Lawton, Okla. The Sooners, Nebraska and the Razorbacks have all received official visits. Most feel Barnett will stay home and sign with Oklahoma, but Bielema’s planning a full-court press in January.
