Auburn defensive backs Kamryn Melton, Derrick Moncrief and Joe Turner have decided to transfer, coach Gus Malzahn announced Friday through the university’s athletic site.

Moncrief and Melton were expected to play reserve roles in Will Muschamp’s secondary this season, while Turner was trying to move his way up the depth chart.

“Kamryn, Derrick and Joe have decided to transfer and pursue playing opportunities elsewhere. We thank them for their time at Auburn and wish them well in the future,” Malzahn said.

Moncrief appeared in 13 games last season and made 27 tackles.
