It was reported on Friday morning that Florida would be without Mark Thompson, one of its top running backs, on Saturday against Georgia.

Now, details have emerged on why exactly Thompson was suspended for The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party in Jacksonville.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, Thompson was cited for marijuana possession on Thursday, along with a couple of other minor traffic charges.

Earlier on Friday morning the school released a statement on why Thompson wouldn’t travel to this weekend’s game against Georgia:

“Mark Thompson will not be making the trip to Jacksonville due to some choices and decisions he’s made.”

The Gators will likely lean heavily on sophomore RB Jordan Scarlett and freshman RB Lamical Perine against the Bulldogs.
