Known for his versatility, Dawson (5-foot-10, 210 pounds) was all over the field for the Gators in 2016, serving as a hybrid-type player as an important member of the SEC’s No. 1-ranked pass defense (148.5 yards allowed per game).

In 11 games, Dawson collected 24 tackles (3.5 for loss) and an interception returned for a touchdown. He also deflected seven passes and forced a fumble.

His return to the field is huge news for the Florida defense in 2017, to say the least.

According to WalterFootball.com, this was probably a wise decision for the Cross City, Fl. native, as he was projected as a potential sixth- or seventh-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
