According to his former coach at Florida, ESPN analyst Tim Tebow still hasn’t given up on playing football.

“He wants another shot at playing,” Ohio State coach Urban Meyer said during a press conference on Thursday.

“I hope he gets it. If not, I think he’s going to continue what he’s doing.”

ESPN sent Tebow to Ohio State on Wednesday as part of its coverage of the upcoming Sugar Bowl matchup with Alabama in the national semifinal (Jan. 1, 8:30 p.m. ET, ESPN).

Since he was there, Meyer asked the (former) quarterback if he’d address the team.

“I love Tim,” Meyer said. “Tim’s a two time national champion. Of two players that have that same bizarre work ethic and toughness, and it’s John Simon and Tim. And that’s not being demeaning to Zach Boren or some of these other great players; it’s just different. The players know that it’s different.

“I had very few jerseys hanging in my office, and his is one of them because of the relentless pursuit of excellence and the way he treats people. It was great, great conversation with our players.”
