The Gators’ depth at linebacker took a hit Monday morning as the school announced redshirt junior Matt Rolin is no longer with the football team.

A native of Virginia, Rolin played in three games in 2015, including an appearance in the SEC Championship game – where he made eight tackles against Alabama. Last season was the first year Rolin saw the field for the Gators.

Coming out of high school in 2013, Rolin was rated as the No. 147 overall prospect and No. 13 outside linebacker in the nation, according to 247Sports Composite Ratings.
