Athens police corrects upset Georgia fans on social media
The arrest of UGA DB Juwuan Briscoe for a failure to wear a seat belt and produce a valid driver’s license was a popular topic on social media Sunday. Some people have asked why Briscoe couldn’t have been on the receiving end of some leniency, perhaps receiving a warning instead of being arrested. Unfortunately, some of those people were asking the wrong law enforcement agency.
The Athens-Clarke Country Police Department had enough of the misplaced criticism, and used its Twitter account to remind people them that it was UGA police, not the city police who arrested Briscoe.
@UGAfootballLive We didn't arrest him, but we probably would have. It is the law of the land: you must have a license if you want to drive.
