Four-star defensive back Chad Clay has verbally committed to Georgia over finalists Florida, Clemson and Ohio State he announced Monday night via Twitter:

The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder from Suwanee, Ga. is the Bulldogs’ 12th commit for the 2016 class, a star-studded group featuring Jacob Eason, the top quarterback in the country.

Clay is the rated the No. 22 player overall in the state of Georgia and 27th-best defensive back in the country according to 247Sports. On April 29, he named Ohio State as his leader.

“I committed to Georgia because I had the best relationship with Coach Jeremy Pruitt, Coach Mark Richt, Coach Thomas Brown and the whole staff,” Clay told 247Sports. “They showed me the most interest the entire way, and I am from the state of Georgia, so it is a true blessing to stay home and play for the Bulldogs.”
