Georgia running back Nick Chubb was a surprise guest today during a post-practice interview with local reporters.

Chubb — recovering from a serious knee injury endured last year versus Tennessee — spoke candidly about the prospects of playing in the season opener against North Carolina on Sept. 3. Though he’s not cleared to be tackled in practice, he isn’t ruling out playing versus the Tar Heels.

“When that day comes, we don’t know yet,” Chubb told Online Athens.

Chubb’s potential involvement in the season-opening clash against a quality non-conference foe would be a major boon for the Bulldogs.
