Georgia coach Kirby Smart updated the statuses of injured running backs Nick Chubb and Sony Michel during his press conference Monday. Smart confirmed that Chubb has been up to speed with the rest of the team for the past three months. Michel, however, will be limited early in preseason camp.

Chubb underwent surgery after injuring his knee against Tennessee last October during his sophomore season. He recorded 1,547 yards and 14 touchdowns as a true freshman and rushed for 100-plus yards in 13 consecutive games prior to his injury.

Michel took over for as the team’s primary back and led the Bulldogs with 1,161 yards and eight touchdowns in 2015. However, an ATV accident in July forced him to get surgery on his left arm.

Smart told reporters last month that Michel’s timetable for recovery was “six to eight weeks.”
