Georgia coach Mark Richt spoke briefly on Nick Chubb’s injury following Georgia’s loss to Tennessee on Saturday, saying that he hopes his running back won’t require surgery.
“Iโm optimistic that it wonโt require surgery, but I canโt say that 100 percent,โ Richt said. โAs of right now, weโre still pretty hopeful that it wonโt require surgery, but weโre not 100 percent sure of that yet. But weโve got to get some confirmation here tomorrow.โ

Chubb’s injury early in the game temporarily deflated the Georgia sideline.
โNick getting hurt on play one wasnโt very exciting to see at all,โ Richt said. โ He was in pain, physical and mental pain knowing that he wasnโt going to be able to finish out this game. He put so much work into this game. Everybody loves Nick Chubb. Everybody respects Nick Chubb. Heโs a true warrior when it comes to playing football and heโs one of the finest people we have on our team.โ
