After losing its first two games, Kentucky has been able to bounce back with a pair of victories against New Mexico State and South Carolina. The Wildcats will have a much tougher time earning a third win on Saturday night, however, when they head on the road to face Alabama.

The undefeated Crimson Tide are the nation’s top-ranked team and Mark Stoops was complimentary of his upcoming opponent on Wednesday’s SEC coaches teleconference.

“Looking forward to the challenge of playing Alabama,” he said. “We know we have our hands full.”

Stoops said he is impressed with Alabama’s linebackers, who he believes are “very physical,” but he also had some high praise for freshman quarterback Jalen Hurts.

“The first thing that jumps out at you is he’s extremely talented, but he looks very poised back there,” Stoops said. “He’s got a big, big-time arm and looks good.”

There is a chance the Wildcats could have talented wide receiver Dorian Baker back in the mix for Saturday’s game. Baker aggravated a hamstring injury a few weeks back, but Stoops said he is progressing and is considered “day-to-day.”
