Citing sources, The Advocate is reporting that LSU freshman running back Derrius Guice was transported to the hospital from the football facility.

The paper confirmed with LSU spokesman Michael Bonnette that a player was taken to the hospital, but he declined to reveal the player’s name or the reason. WBRZ had a photo of the player being loaded or unloaded into an ambulance. However, it sounds like the trip to the hospital was more of a precautionary measure, which is encouraging news.

Guice was a top 50 prospect, according to 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, and he was rated as the No. 5 overall running back and No. 2 overall player in the state of Louisiana.

Les Miles will attend SEC Media Days Thursday, and hopefully he has good news at the podium about this incident, if he discusses it at all.
