On Tuesday evening, ESPN pundit Kirk Herbstreit made an appearance on ‘The Paul Finebaum Show’ to talk all things SEC-centric.

In the wake of LSU firing Les Miles, the future of the job has been a topic bandied about by virtually every college football analyst. Many potential names are being thrown around as possible fits.

When asked about the vacancy, Herbstreit didn’t hide his feelings on what he feels LSU should do:

“It takes an iron fist of a personality to go down there and have consistency. The guy that I think is a perfect fit is Tom Herman. Right now he’s the flavor of the month thanks to the offense and what he’s doing in Houston. If I were in charge of LSU, that’s the only call I would make… Not only is he the right fit but he’s young and he could take Urban Meyer’s system to Baton Rouge. If Tom Herman goes to LSU, look out.”

Hailing from the Urban Meyer tree of coaching, Herman is an exceptional recruiter — and perhaps even more successful when it comes to player development. With the insane amount of talent within the state of Louisiana, he could be a monster down in Baton Rouge.
