LSU fans might remember the last time they met up with Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, a 51-0 shellacking back in 2010. This year’s ULM will definitely offer more resistance, as they come into Baton Rouge with a stout defense. The Warhawks sit at 2-0, having held ACC opponent Wake Forest to a paltry 94 yards two weeks ago, then winning a shootout with Idaho last week.

ULM lost both games it played against Top 25 teams last year, but the program did knock off Arkansas in 2012. Here are some ULM players to keep an eye on.

1. QB Pete Thomas: The Warhawks senior QB has bounced around a bit, as ULM is his third FBS stop in his college career. He’s only completing 55.3 percent of his passes but is averaging more than 275 yards per game. He has a big arm, but isn’t always the best decision maker.

2. RB Centarius Donald: Donald has been a beast for Louisiana-Monroe through two games, averaging five yards per carry and 114 yards per game. He’ll be counted on to try to control the game flow early. He scored the winning touchdown with nine seconds to go last week against Idaho.

3. WR Kenzee Jackson: The senior has been ULM’s top receiver so far this year, grabbing 12 balls for 170 yards. He hasn’t found the end zone yet, and LSU’s secondary will have to monitor him closely to keep it that way.

4. S Justin Backus: The sophomore has taken over the lead role in the Warhawks secondary and is the team’s leading tackle through two games. He’s also broken up three passes, so LSU’s QBs will have to be wary of him when looking deep.

5. LB Ray Stovall: Stovall is leading the Warhawks in sacks with 2.5 after two games, heading up a much-improved pass rush from a year ago. After recording 16 sacks in all of 2013, ULM already has 10 this season.
