LSU defensive coordinator Dave Aranda did quite well during his first year in Baton Rouge.

A California native, Aranda came to LSU from Wisconsin. In his inaugural campaign, the Tigers’ defense ranked No. 13 in the country — allowing 323.0 yards per contest.

In addition, the opposition scored 32 touchdowns versus LSU on the season. This is the second-fewest of any school in the country, behind Alabama (29).

It comes as no surprise that Aranda was given a raise for his performance:

Aranda has now become one of the highest-paid coordinators in the sport.
