LSU already is scoping potential replacements for Jalen Mills and Jamal Adams at safety.

The Tigers got a commitment from 6-foot-4 safety Clifford Chattman on Wednesday.

Chattman, a four-star member of the 2016 class out of McDonogh 35 in New Orleans, gives LSU a giant defensive back in line with the trend started by the Seattle Seahawks. The Tigers likely will look for Chattman to add to his 175-pound frame, though, before he arrives in Baton Rouge.

Frank Wilson has served as the primary recruiter for Chattman, the sixth LSU commitment of the 2016 class.

So far LSU has instituted an imaginary 6-foot-4 height limit on the class. QB Feleipe Franks (6-foot-5), WR Stephen Sullivan (6-foot-6), WR Dee Anderson (6-foot-4), TE Jamal Pettigrew (6-foot-6) and G Donavaughn Campbell (6-foot-5) all are at least that tall.
