LSU middle linebacker Kendell Beckwith went down with a knee injury during practice on Thursday and required help to get off the field, per Ross Dellenger of The Advocate.

The seriousness of his injury is unknown at this point, but the fact that he couldn’t get off the field under his own power could be concerning for the Tigers.

Beckwith, a rising senior, is one of the key components to LSU’s defensive front seven, having recorded 150 tackles (17.5 for loss), 5.5 sacks, an interception and two forced fumbles over the last two seasons.

UPDATE

The LSU coaching staff believes Beckwith’s injury is minor.

“They think he’s fine,” a source told Dellenger.

Beckwith is scheduled to receive an MRI on Friday.
