This isn’t the type of news LSU fans want to read to start their week.

Four-star quarterback Lowell Narcisse announced Monday morning following his official visit to campus his decision to cut ties with the Tigers and re-open his recruitment process for outside competition. Could it be just a coincidence that Auburn paid Narcisse a visit Sunday evening?

Narcisse announced the news via Twitter Monday:

Narcisse (6-foot-3, 225 pounds) serves as the No. 8 dual-threat quarterback from the 2017 class and rounds out as a top-250 prospect, per 247Sports. He originally committed to LSU back in May, and though he’s no longer an official commit, did not say what his next move would be, meaning the door could still be open for him to land with the Tigers.

However, time could be running out for LSU, as Narcisse plans on enrolling early and the NCAA-mandated recruiting dead period began Monday.

After the loss of Narcisse, the LSU recruiting class — still ranked as high as fifth in the nation — is down to 17 commits, including four-star pro-style passer Myles Brennan.
