The new facility includes the following features, according to an article from The Advocate in April when construction began:

  • Brand new weights, dumbbell sets, weight racks, lifting machine and cardio machines (triple the previous amount).
  • Two 10-foot LED screens that can sync to an iPad
  • Medical-ball wall
  • Second bathroom
  • Larger storage unit
  • A new office
  • Up to 30 televisions
  • Five-zone directional speaker system
  • Thicker, softer floor

The old set of weights used by the football team will replace a 20-year old set in the north end zone weight room of Tiger Stadium, a facility used by the softball, basketball, tennis, gold, and swimming and diving teams.
