In Louisiana, top high school prospects seem to always end up staying home for school. Over the last decade, at least five of the top-10 players in the state have picked LSU to play their college football in any given class. It’s already shaping up that way for 2016.

The Tigers have already made major inroads in their home state. The 2016 recruiting cycle is shaping up to be another good one for LSU that would be on par with 2015, when seven of the top 10 in Louisiana signed with the Tigers.

The top two players, five-star defensive tackles Edwin Alexander and Rashard Lawrence, both play a position of need for LSU, and both are predicted to pick the Tigers.

Shea Patterson, one of the highest-rated quarterbacks to come out of the state in some time, recently picked Ole Miss over LSU, while five-star cornerback Shyheim Carter decided to head to Alabama.

Half of the top 10 is made up of cornerbacks and wide receivers, which helps to explain LSU’s dominance in recruiting both positions. The Tigers are the favorite to land two of the three receivers listed, with fellow wide receiver-recruiting powerhouse Texas A&M looking like a good bet to land the third.

Take a look at Louisiana’s top 10 and where the experts think they’re heading.
