Last season, Bulldogs QB Dak Prescott rewrote many of Mississippi State’s single-season offensive records.

Provided good health and fortune, Prescott will shift his focus to the career records section of Mississippi State record book in 2015.

Prescott already owns a handful of Bulldogs career records, such as total yards (7,496), touchdown responsibility (72) and 200-yard passing games (17), along with various other ratio-based records that could fluctuate during the season.

But the dual-threat Heisman Trophy hopeful has many more records in the crosshairs for the 2015 season.

Let’s try to predict when he’ll reach those career records:

Most passing touchdowns: Sept. 5 at Southern Mississippi

Current Record: Tyler Russell 42 (2010-13)
Dak’s number: 41
Prescott should get the record-breaking parade started with a couple of touchdown passes in the season-opener against Southern Miss.

Most pass completions: Sept. 19 vs. Northwestern State

Current record: Wayne Madkin 462 (1998-2001)
Dak’s number: 418
Using last season’s completion numbers against Southern Mississippi (18) and LSU (15) as a guide, Prescott should be on pace to break this in Week 3.

Most passing yards: Sept. 19 vs. Northwestern State

Current record: Wayne Madkin 6,336 (1998-2001)
Dak’s number: 5,583
Prescott averaged 265 passing yards per game last season. Staying on that pace should push him past this record by the end of the Northwestern State game.

Most 100-yard rushing games by a QB: Sept. 26 at Auburn

Current record: Don Smith 9 (1983-86)
Dak’s number: 8
Prescott had three 100-yard rushing games in the first four games of the 2014 season, so Week 4 in a high-scoring game against Auburn seems like a good bet for 100-yard game No. 2 of the 2015 season.

Most net rushing yards by a QB: Oct. 3 at Texas A&M

Current record: John Bond 2,280 (1980-83)
Dak’s number: 1,933
The date on this one is likely dependent upon the amount running Prescott does in a gimme game against Northwestern State early in the season.

Most 300-yard passing games: Oct. 10 vs. Troy

Current record: Kevin Fant 4 (2000-03)
Dak’s number: 2
Predicting this one is a little like throwing a dart blindfolded, but let’s give Dak the benefit of the doubt and say he reaches the 300-yard mark in three of his first six games of the season.

Most passing attempts: Oct. 17 vs. Louisiana Tech

Current record: Wayne Madkin 887 (1998-2001)
Dak’s number: 692
Prescott attempted just over 30 passes per game in 2014. Keeping a similar pace this season, he should reach this record by his seventh game.

Most rushing touchdowns: Nov. 28 vs. Ole Miss

Current record: Anthony Dixon 42 (2006-09)
Dak’s number: 31
Keeping a steady pace of roughly one rushing touchdown per game, Prescott will be set up to break this record in the Egg Bowl.
